I purchased this printer when it was on sale at staples during a previous tax season. It worked great to print out my tax's that year, but a few months later I had tried to print some images I created in photoshop and the printer was unable to print anything. I checked the software and found out that both ink cartrages were full, but apparently there is something weird with these printer cartridges which cause them to get blocked. I spent hours trying to clean the print heads via software and when things finally started working the multi-colored print cartridge ran out of blue. So I had to run out to the store and drop $30 on a new color printer cartridge.
Everytime I try to print something on this printer it's the same story, full ink cartridge but the printer won't print no matter how much I clean the cartridge. The closest I've come to actually solving this issue is after talking to a guy at one of the "printer ink refill places" who suggested using windex and wiping the print head a certian way in order to clear up the blockage. But even after that process the quality of the prints were horrible.
I used to love HP printers but my experiance with this printer has put me off of ever purchasing another one of their products. From now on I'll be buying either Epson, or Cannon.
I simply can't afford to drop $70.00 for a new black & color cartridge every time I need to print something out, especially not when the ones I currently own are 3/4 of the way full but won't print due to poor print head design.
