I have been using this printer for a few years and tonight feel compelled to write a little review.
In short, it produces the most beautiful prints that I've ever seen from a desktop printer. Absolutely gorgeous.
Also in short, I spent about $250 on ink *last year alone*, and I'd estimate that 1/3 of that was from cleaning the heads. Every single time I use it after not having used it for a month (maybe) I have to clean the heads repeatedly in order to get it to print a nice page, and change at least one $12-14 cartridge... Once it does work, it shines.
The DVD printing is a huge benefit. The "gloss optimizer" layer produces pristine quality prints, and I've done quite a few 8x10s of my digital photography with it. However, I'm on the verge of relieving myself of it and getting something more reliable, as the total for my ink expense was the last straw. Of course, I have a deadline tonight and have to feed it more ink to get *two* prints out of it.
